Giving Contractors The Tools To Do More
Registration Help

All eGordian users benefit from registration. These benefits are discussed on the Should I Register page.

The fields on the registration screen are explained below.

Company Name Required Field. Enter your company name exactly how you would like it to appear on eGordian.

Contact Name Required Field. Enter your name exactly how you would like it to appear on eGordian. We suggest typing First Name then Last Name. Middle initials or Middle Names would be appropriate. Some examples are: John Q. Smith; John Smith; Mr. John Smith.

Address 1 & 2 Required Field (Address 1). Use the address lines to enter your address. You should enter your address the same way you would address an envelope. For example: 123 Anywhere St., STE 210 could go in the Address 1 field thus leaving the Address 2 field blank. STE 210 did not need to go in the Address 2 field. You can go to the United States Post Office website to find out exactly how an envelope should be addressed for your address by clicking here.

City Required Field. The city will be entered into this field. It is important that you enter the city with the correct spelling and capitalization. The city 'Baltimore' and 'baltimore' will be recognized as two different cities by eGordian.

State Required Field. Use the drop down box to select your state.

Zip Enter you zip code in this field.

Phone, Fax,
Mobile & Pager
You can enter several numbers where you can be contacted. Each of the numbers are optional but you must use the area code for each entry you use. You can type the numbers in the fields without formatting them. eGordian will format the numbers like this: (123) 456-7890. You can put extensions after the number if necessary. Any non-number characters will be ignored.

Email Required Field. Enter a valid email address in this field. You can obtain a free email address from many sites on the Internet if you don't already have one. A couple of locations to consider for a free email address would be Hotmail or Yahoo. Just click on one of the links for more information.

Password Required Field. Enter a password that you will use to access your profile. This password can be just about anything but blank. Verify the password by entering it again in the Verify Password field.

Classification The Classification list encompasses a number of options that can apply to a specific user. Many Facility Owners have Equal Opportunity or similar programs that are aimed at increasing the use of local, disadvantaged, minority owned businesses and others.

Such programs are also aimed towards Small Businesses and Section 3 contractors. The definition of a small business varies by governmental agency so be sure to check with your local agencies on whether you are considered a small business. Use the Federal standards if your local agencies do not establish a standard. The Federal standards for a small business can be found by clicking here.

A Section 3 contractor refers to Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968. Section 3, simply stated, is considered low-income persons, particularly public housing residents. For more on the Section 3 program click here.

The Classification list helps contractors in locating subcontractors that can help facility owners achieve certain goals. The Classification list was originally developed from HUD forms. If you believe a classification should be changed or added please call us at 877-GORDIAN or (877) 467-3426.

Specialties Select one or more specialties that your company performs. Please call us at 877-GORDIAN or (877) 467-3426 with specialties that do not appear in the list.

Information
Available
At the bottom of the registration page, just above the Accept Changes and Undo Changes buttons, is a check box where you can choose to make your information public. Checking this box allows your information to be available for searches. This is important if you want to increase your business opportunities because contractors will search eGordian for subcontractors that meet specific criteria. You will not be listed in any search unless you check this box.
