Search Help

|
Using the search feature on eGordian is a rather simple process. It begins with
the type of search you want to perform which can be by either
Projects or by Contractors. Depending on type of search selected, the user has the choice
to narrow down the search through three or four filtering tiers. These filter tiers consist of
Location, Specialties, Cities, and Facility Owners. You can use any combination of the
different tiers for your search. The more you use, the better your results will be. Each
tier is described below.

Location
|
The Location tier allows the user to start a search for Projects or a search for Contractors.
A Project search will result in a list of upcoming JOC Projects. A Contractor search will result
in a list of Contractors. Once that is done, the choice is made on what specific zip code to
search for within the selected number of miles. If the Zip Code field is left blank then location
will not be used in the search.

Specialties
|
The Specialties tier is a way to narrow your search so that it includes only those
specialties that interest you.
To select more than one specialty, hold down the control (ctrl) key on your keyboard while
you click on the specialties with your mouse. Selecting 'ALL' in the list will provide a search
on all the specialties listed in the database.
The specialties shown are only the ones that have corresponding projects or contractors
currently in eGordian. If you don't see the specialty you are interested
in, it means there are no projects or contractors at that time. Notice that the specialty list
will change when you switch your search between Projects and Contractors.

Cities
|
Select the city or cities from the Cities tier.
To select more than one city, hold down the control (ctrl) key on your keyboard while
you click on the cities with your mouse.
The cities shown are only the ones that have corresponding projects or contractors
currently in eGordian. If you don't see the city you are interested
in, it means there are no projects or contractors at that time. Notice that the city list
will change when you switch your search between Projects and Contractors.

Facility Owner
|
The Facility Owner tier is shown only for Project searches. This option allows a user to search
for projects based on the facility owner of the project.
